New Year, New Goals, New Rules

So it’s a new year and everyone has resolutions that may be broken by the first of the second month into the year. What new years resolutions have you written that you may have already broken? It’s ok if you have broken one or two. Get back on them and keep pressing forward! We still have 350 days to cover. So let’s get going! Motivate, Inspire, Change Lives and Jump into Action.

Get your calendar, notebook, journal, dream book, or whatever it is that you enjoy writing your dreams and read what you have written and write some more!  I have realized there are times when you have to look back and review what you have written and achieved (or not) in order to see how far you have gotten.

One of my goals this year is to read more books that will help me reach my goals. I have already read a book by Terri Savelle Foy “Dream Big” and it has impacted my life greatly! If you do not like to read there is also the option of listening to podcasts  or audiobooks. Learn, learn, learn and move, move, move unto a better place, unto a better position, unto a better state of mind. The point is to move and not be mediocre.

I challenge you to get your hands on books, articles, attend conferences and seminars that will challenge you to jump into your destiny. Surround yourself by positive people. Take away the negative and recognize when the negative energy reaches your space.

This year, I am going to jump into action and no longer be a wimp or give excuses. I love the acronym that Florida Hospital has on their welcome card (laying on the hospital bed) when you are admitted as an inpatient or outpatient – CREATION.

C- Choice

R- Rest

E- Environment

A- Activity

T- Trust

I- Interpersonal Relationships

O- Outlook

N- Nutrition

After reading their philosophy, I was reminded that in life there should be a balance. At times, we lose that balance when we focus too much on one thing and then all others areas of our lives suffer the neglect.

So, time to get back in the game to focus and keep the balance going. What do you do when you fall off your list of things to do? What is it that helps you stay on track? Is it a phone app? List of things to do on paper? A planner? All are great and the best part is that you use  what works for you.

Live, learn and move on!

2016 will be the best year ever~

Shoes to Fill…A Very Tall Order

Shoes to Fill...A Very Tall Order

What shoes do you wear?

What are you called to do?

The other day my mom and I were talking about “vocation” and “calling”.
When I think of the word “vocation” I think of a plumber, nurse or a police.
And, when I think of the word “calling” I think of a missionary, a pastor or layperson.
What are you thoughts?
I’m trying to ask thought-provoking questions simply to see what others think.
This photo was taken a few months ago when I was doing my early spring cleaning and found these shoes under the bed. I know spring was just last week but I started early…call me a nerd (hehehe). Well, these shoes were left under the bed back in May of last year when my late sister was visiting us for 2 weeks and she realized she could not fit them in her luggage because she had just way too much stuff to take back home (this tells you I literally do not look under the bed often). So, she asked me to mail them after she left because they were her favorites shoes and were very comfortable and pretty. I never did but she never asked for them again either. Go figure.

I could never fill in my sisters shoes. She did so much! Her friend and co-worker text me about a week ago and I was reminded that many loved her and what she stood up for. I know she had a calling and it is evident by the responses of all those that loved her for they continue to send me quick text messages to let me know what a huge impact my sister has left in their lives. She loved God and loved people!

I’m sure you have a legacy you are working on to leave for your friends and family. But again I ask, “what is your calling?” What are you doing to fulfill your calling? We are conditioned to go to school and work on getting a degree to get a career and to work until retirement. At least that’s how I was taught growing up in public schools. But what is truly your “calling” in your life? Are you living out what God has called you to do? Jeremiah 29:11 say’s “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” And, I love the following scripture by Paul in Ephesians 4:1, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.” Paul is exhorting us to live a life worthy of the calling in which you have received. We have received a calling and now what do we do with it?

It’s March and I’m sure you are tired of going to the gym and eating healthy…maybe or maybe not??? I urge you to go to your list of things to do, your resolution list, your short-term or long-term goals and review, revise and rewrite if you have to. Stay on track and update what needs to be updated. God is a god of mercy and we have every waking day to start all over. Go and do what you are called to do!

Be encouraged! Be inspired! And, be you! God called you! Don’t delay! Get going!!!

What shoes are you wearing?

I hope this message has inspired you as it has me!

Godspeed,

Cindy

2014 Vision Board

I hope this inspires you to start your very own vision board. I started my board last year but it is now in 2014 that I am beginning to fill it up with new goals, inspiration and dreams! Begin NOW! 🙂

Joshua 1:7

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.”

My New 2014 Vision Board

My New 2014 Vision Board

“Though one may be overpowered…”

No one wants to be alone! I sure don’t want to be left alone! Do you? Well, unless I am alone in His presence or alone to think and get my thoughts together. Nonetheless, we all yearn to have some type of companionship.

Last year, I lost 2 important people in my life.

My divorce was final mid October and a little over a month after that I lost my sister. What a way to end 2013. You are probably wondering and saying to yourself “that is insane”. Yes, it is! But in the midst of this insanity I have found grace, peace and love. My husband chose to abandon me in order to pursue selfish things of this world. I’m not bitter! I chose to stay firm in the Word and trust in God’s promises for my future. My sister did not leave me alone…although it may feel that way at times. She did however leave a legacy…her precious daughter Sami who she adored and called Saminel, Mookie, Pookie and all the other cute names that you can come up with my sister used them too! She is 23 years old and is trying to figure out life all by herself in the Big Apple. My prayer in 2014 is that she does not feel alone in 2014 and moving forward. That she would continue reaching out to me and others for guidance, prayer and assistance any time she needs it. I love her and want to see her desires, goals and aspirations fulfilled.

In 2014, I choose not to be alone in my journey. I am including key people in my life that will steer me in the right direction. I am involving others to do the same. Make this year an even better year because you included others in your inner circle to accomplish the things God has called you to do. I love the stories of the women in the bible that did not make it alone. They were tactful and strategic about how they were going to accomplish their goals. I love the story of Esther and what she had gone through in order to become Queen. What a story! Read Esther when you get a chance and think to yourself if that was you how you would react being in her position.

Make a difference in 2014 and be light to all that do not have light. Choose not to be alone!

Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Be empowered! You are mighty and strong!

Godspeed~
